Tunisian Foreign Minister Taieb Baccouche has called for concerted efforts to confront illegal immigration.

The illegal immigration has been increased during the past period and posed a great danger to the national security, Baccouche said during a symposium held to discuss the issue of illegal immigration.

He pointed out to the close relation between terrorism and illegal immigration networks and organized crime gangs.

He also called for developing consular work to protect the interests of Tunisian expatriates.
