Defense attaché of Egypt’s embassy in Tunis on Thursday honored a Tunisian veteran for his heroic participation in the October 6th War against Israel in 1973. 

Tunisian Hero, Mohamed Al Habib bin Bashir, received the honorary shield of the Egyptian Armed Forces for joining the Arab military unit during the war. 

He joined the unit when he was commissioned as a sergeant in 1973. 

Up to 1,200 Tunisian soldiers took part in the war under Col. Abdul Aziz Sakeek.
