A security operation is still ongoing in Tunisia's Gafsa state, according to Interior Ministry spokesman Walid al Weqini.

The operation resulted in the killing of a number of terrorists, the spokesman said in statements without providing further details.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian media reported that confrontations between terrorists and security forces left five extremists dead and two of the national guards wounded.
