Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid on Sunday voiced satisfaction at the security situation in the border region of Ras Jedir, during a security meeting held Sunday there, Tunis Africa News Agency reported.
He pointed out that all the preventive measures were taken and security reinforcements were deployed, following the assassination of Egyptian nationals in Libya.
The country’s security is the concern of all Tunisians, Essid said, calling citizens to help the military and security forces, notably, by information, so as to protect the country against any possible risks.
The PM pointed to the clear improvement of the situation at the level of the Ras Jedir border crossing, voicing satisfaction at the efforts exerted to this end.
Equipment should, however, be reinforced to help customs officers discharge at best their mission, he noticed, adding that a structure will be created for the border crossing point’s maintenance and management.
Besides, Essid got acquainted with the flow of travelers and merchandise and customs control at the border crossing.
