Tunisian police have arrested a terrorist cell in Bizerte state.

The terrorist cell intended to target security and military units in the northern Tunisian state, a statement by the Tunisian Interior Ministry said.

One element of the cell was killed on Mount Samama in Awlad Abbas area, the statement said, noting that he is an Algerian national named Abdel Haqq al Dabbar, aka Haroun.

Haroun is a dangerous element who belonged to the Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), the statement said.

He is also a prominent leader of the Okba Ibn Nafaa Brigade, it added.
