Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi underlined continued coordination with Egypt.
Essebsi said he is keeping in touch with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi whom he met twice.
Essebsi made the remark after receiving a message from Sisi delivered by Premier Ibrahim Mahlab Wednesday morning.
During the meeting, Essebsi lauded Sisi's foreign tours which helped Egypt restore its position and effective role in handling regional issues.
Essebsi said he welcomes Sisi's invitation to visit Egypt as soon as possible.
Mahlab noted that the Egyptian-Tunisian relations are deeply-rooted.
He added that the convocation of the joint committee after five-year hiatus marks a boost in bilateral cooperation in various domains.
Mahlab underlined Egypt's solidarity with Tunisia in confronting terrorism, citing recent terror attacks on Tunisia.
During the meeting, Mahlab and Essebsi discussed conditions in Libya, Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
