Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan

Ambassador of the UAE to Egypt, Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, reiterated the UAE's strong condemnation of the heinous crimes of Daesh, including the recent brutal execution of 21 innocent Egyptians in Libya, and emphasised that the UAE is even more determined to enhance cooperation with its partners to counter all terror groups, according to the sisterly UAE News Agency WAM.
Al Dhaheri made his remarks in an address to a consultative meeting for the permanent representatives to the League of Arab States to discuss the developments in Yemen and the crimes of Daesh. He also reiterated the UAE's full solidarity with Egypt against terrorism and extremism.
"We emphasise that the UAE supports and backs all the measures that Egypt is taking to protect its security and stability and the safety of its citizens," added Ambassador Al Dhaheri.
He also highlighted the need to empower the Libyan people and its elected parliament and government to enforce their sovereignty over all Libyan territory.
Speaking on Yemen, Ambassador Al Dhaheri renewed the UAE's complete rejection of Houthis' illegitimate coup d'état against legitimacy and the group's seizure of power.
He also demanded that Yemen's President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, his Prime Minister Khaled Bahhah and all the other officials detained by the Houthis be freed immediately.
Al Dhaheri also demanded that the Houthis withdraw from all the areas they control, surrender the arms which they looted from Yemen's military and security installations and engage in the political process to work on achieving stability.
He also stressed that all UN Security Council resolutions on Yemen must be enforced as the developments in Yemen are threatening regional and international security and stability.
Al Dhaheri also stressed that the UAE backs the efforts of all Yemeni parties which seek a peaceful solution to the crisis in Yemen, WAM reported.
