Unidentified armed men on Monday kidnapped an Egyptian national in southwestern Libya.

The citizen, identified as Erfan Salem, 47, was kidnapped by unknown militants in the Libyan city of Sabha, a security source said.

The source told Al Wasat website that the man's wife said that the abductors want 70,000 Libyan dinars as ransom for his release.
