A number of unidentified persons have hurled a makeshift bomb at Abu Zaabal Police Station in Khanka.
The bomb detonated Tuesday, destroying the wall of the police station.
No word of human casualties was reported.
Sappers rushed to the site of the blast and combed the area in search for more bombs.
A hunt is on for the perpetrators.
