United Nations Alliance of Civilizations

The recent meeting of the Arab Focal Points at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), held in Cairo under the Egyptian delegation, managed to adopt executive programs for the Arab strategic plan, Egypt's Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for United Nations Affairs Amr Juweili said.

In a statement, the Egyptian diplomat said that the adopted executive programs represent a unique opportunity to translate the Arab strategy already agreed into reality, through upgraded programs that enhance the inter-Arab cooperation and contribute to boosting communication with other civilizations.

The meeting also dealt with continuing coordination between Arab countries in preparation for the seventh forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations to be held on April 25 to 27 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) was established in 2005, as the political initiative of former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

The Alliance maintains a global network of partners including states, international and regional organizations, civil society groups, foundations, and the private sector to improve cross-cultural relations between diverse nations and communities.
