US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter held talks last night with Qatar's Minister of State for Defense Affairs Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah on means of fighting Daesh militants along with regional developments.

The meeting, held in the Pentagon, also tackled the current Yemeni quagmire along with other issues of mutual interest, particularly in military domains.

Carter stressed the importance of continuing cooperation for ensuring stability in the Middle East, Pentagon Spokesman Peter Cook said.
