A fire that erupted earlier at a building of the Holding Company for Biological Products & Vaccines (VACSERA) in the Giza district of Agouza has been extinguished, an official source said Sunday.
Eleven fire engines were deployed to the scene to prevent the flames from extending to higher floors or to the adjacent chemical storehouse, the source said.
The fire caused a strong explosion inside the building, leaving five persons injured. Hanging ceilings, windows and glass doors at the ground floor were all shattered by the explosion wave.
