Cairo - MENA
The Cairo Criminal Court set April 21 to issue its verdict in the trial of ousted president Mohamad Morsi and 14 others charged with inciting the murder of demonstrators outside Ittihadiya presidential palace late in 2012.
Clashes broke out outside Ittihadiya Palace when Morsi issued a controversial constitutional decision immunizing his decisions against challenge.
Morsi and his co-defendants – including several top Muslim Brotherhood leaders – are charged with inciting the murder of opposition demonstrators during clashes that broke out between Morsi's terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group supporters and opponents outside the presidential palace.
Seven of the defendants are being tried in abstentia.
