A well-informed source denied on Thursday claims on the formation of a new Syrian opposition entity.

The source added that Egypt's Foreign Ministry's recent statement did not express willingness to form a new Syrian opposition entity.

On Saturday, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said that Cairo will host meetings of the Syrian opposition on June 8-9.

Talks will be held under the auspices of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs.

The meetings will focus on action that should be taken in the coming stage to end the Syrian crisis and stop the bloodshed.
