The Yemeni army will regain control of Marib governorate ahead of the Greater Bairam (Eidul Adha), a Yemeni military official said on Wednesday.

Speaking to Sky News TV channel, Brigadier General Mohsen el Daery said Yemeni troops and popular armed groups, backed by the Saudi-led Arab coalition, are still launching attacks on Huthi sites.

All roads leading to the Yemeni capital of Sanaa are completely secured, he said.

Yemen has been engulfed in conflicts between Houthis and the government forces since early 2015.

In late March, a Saudi-led coalition of Arab states began launching airstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen at the request of Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
