Cairo - MENA
Yemeni Prime Minister Khaled Mahfouz Bahah has praised the important role played by Egypt to support legitimacy in Yemen.
Bahah, in statements upon arriving at Cairo airport Wednesday, hailed as "historical" Egypt's stances toward Yemen and its big support for Sanaa at the political, military and development levels.
The Yemeni premier is on a three-day visit to Egypt to post the Egyptian leadership on the latest developments in Yemen and to discuss bilateral relations.
He said his visit to Egypt is meant to stress its big nationalist status in Yemen.
Bahah said this is an important visit, coming at a time when events are stepping up in Yemen and the region.
The Yemeni prime minister said he will be discussing the latest Yemeni developments during his meetings with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian government.
Sanaa is keen on studying means to activate relations with Cairo and on acting to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields in a way that serves the strategic interests of both sides, Bahah said.
During his stay in Egypt, Bahah is also scheduled to hold talks with Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby.
He will also attend a consultative meeting at the level of permanent envoys to the AL to discuss the Yemeni crisis on Thursday.
