Southern popular groups supporting Yemeni President Abd Rabou Mansour Hadi restored control over Aden airport, sources at the popular groups said on Sunday.
The groups chased the Houthis, backed by forces affiliated to ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh, out of the airport.
During the attack, the groups killed eight Houthis and injured 17 others while the rest of them fled the area to Badr camp.
The groups controlled the camp in the wee hours of the morning while the remaining of Houthis fled to side streets.
