Yemeni President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi issued a decision to appoint brigadier-general Youssef el Sharagy as a military leader of Yemen's besieged Taiz region.

The decision was met with applause from army members and the resistance in Taiz.

They also considered the decision as an important step to liberate Taiz.
