Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has arrived in the southern city of Aden after being held under house arrest in Sanaa by Houthi militants last month.
In a press statement issued Saturday, the Minister of Information Nadia Al-Saqaf said that Hadi arrived in Aden late Friday.
The political equation and the balance of power in Yemen have changed, Al-Saqaf said.
She pointed out that the Houthi militants have tightened security measures around the houses of the prime minister and the foreign minister, of the resigned cabinet, after Hadi's departure.
Last month, Houthis seized the presidential palace and confined Hadi to their house, prompting him to tender his resignation.
Last week, the UN urged the Huthis to immediately withdraw their forces from government institutions and relinquish power. It also demanded that the militia release Hadi, Prime Minister Khalid Bahah and other officials and activists under de facto house arrest or in detention.
