Yemen's President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi rejected Thursday the resignation of the country's national security chief Ali Hassan al Ahmadi.

Al Ahmadi tendered his resignation on Wednesday evening without giving any explanation, sources close to al Ahmadi said.

Hadi rejected the resignation due the current conditions in Yemen.

The sources attributed reasons behind al Ahmadi's resignation, currently living in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, to the marginalization of the Arab coalition forces and the legitimate Yemeni government to the role of the national security agency, especially in such critical security conditions in Aden city.

The national security agency is one of the two intelligence bodies in Yemen, and the first in the country in the domain of political security.

It is affiliated to the Yemeni presidential institution, and was founded in 2002.

The body's mandate is represented in protecting the national security from any domestic or foreign threats.
