President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who is the Yemeni supreme commander in chief, issued a decree Thursday to make military orders pass over current chief of staff, his deputy and security commission in Sanaa.
Hadi took the decision during an extraordinary meeting by the supreme security committee in Aden, read a statement by the committee.
Under the Yemeni president's decision, any military orders issued by the named posts shall be void.
The decree came as first reaction to a air strike launched by an unidentified warplane against presidential palace in Aden on Thursday.
Earlier, Yemeni armed forces backed by popular committees retook control of an anti-riot police camp in Aden after its commander, General Abdel-Hafez al-Saqqaf, rejected military orders.
Thirteen people were reported killed while 21 others injured in the operation.
