Yemen's Republican Guards foil bid to storm presidential palace

Yemen's Republican Guards have foiled a terror attack targeting the gate of the presidential palace in Aden, said a well-placed military source said.

A suicide bombing targeted the presidential palace in Aden on Thursday, the source said.

The bombing occurred outside the main gate that is two kilometers away from the palace where Hadi, government members and the presidential staffers were present, the sources said in statements.

Six people, including five guards, were killed and eleven others were injured in the attack.

Such terror acts will not hinder the political leadership and security forces from completing their duties in enhancing the security and stability of the city, the source said.
