Syrian club Shorta beat Horriya 1-0 on Thursday to remain at the top of the Syrian Premier League. In a fairly evening game, Shorta netted the winner in the first half at the Tishreen Stadium in Damascus. Meanwhile, Jaish claimed its first win of the season, cruising past al-Misfat, 3-1. Shorta will face Jaish on Sunday in Damascus with the winner expected to be crowned champions of the Syrian Premier League.
