The turnover of the South Korean stock market hit an eight-month high in August on the back of a spate of market-friendly policies and a bullish run on local stocks, data showed Monday.
The average turnover on the main bourse amounted to 4.12 trillion won (US$4.06 billion) last month, the highest since October, when the comparable figure was 4.24 trillion won, according to the data compiled by the Korea Exchange, the bourse's operator.
