European Union member states should allow Latvia to join the eurozone on January 1, the bloc\'s executive said Wednesday, after finding that the country fulfilled all conditionsm dpa reported. Latvia would, however, \"need to remain vigilant\" on inflation, the European Commission warned, calling on the Baltic country to maintain \"a prudent fiscal policy\" and keep \"domestic demand on a sustainable path.\" \"Latvia\'s desire to adopt the euro is a sign of confidence in our common currency and further evidence that those who predicted the disintegration of the euro area were wrong,\" EU Economy Commissioner Olli Rehn said.
