Georgia continued its deflation trend in March with a negative 2.1-percent annual inflation rate, the country\'s state statistical service GeoStat reported Wednesday.February also registered a negative annual inflation rate of 2.1 percent, the government saidGeoStat attributed the deflation trend to falling prices for food, non-alcoholic beverages, housing, utilities and transportation.GeoStat reported negative annual inflation readings for February, March, April, May, June and August of last year, with the lowest at negative 3.3 percent for the month of May.
