Analysts had expected the monthly data to show that the seasonally adjusted number of people out of work had fallen by 5,000. \"Overall, the German labour market is in a good basic shape, but structural problems will become more obvious,\" said labour office board member Heinrich Alt. In seasonally unadjusted terms, unemployment dropped by 97,000 to 2.849 million.
