The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) urged on Tuesday local and foreign investors to take benefits from incentives given for biomass industry and green technology. The authority's Executive Director Sangaran Narayanan said, at the Biomass Asia Conference, that MIDA welcomes investors in the field of green technology in Malaysia, and that the authority will provide both fiscal and non-fiscal support to investors to encourage this type of technological investments, led by research, development, and innovation authorities. Narayanan noted that MIDA is currently cooperating with different local agencies operating in the fields of human resources, infrastructure, and utilities, including research and development authorities and technology centers. He also said the Malaysian government aims to attract such types of investments in the country to develop the manufacturing sector for the current year, especially with the increasing number of emerging states that are getting into that sector in recent years.
