Minister of Defence of Pakistan, Rana Tanveer met with a Chinese delegation headed by Zhang Jianhua, Vice Administrator from SASTIND on Tuesday to enhance ties in defence production. The Defence Minister said that China has great potential in shipbuilding sector and Pakistan wants the Chinese to invest and extend technological support in this regard. The meeting reviewed all pending issues and problems and emphasized for their smooth redressal on priority, said an official press release. Tanveer told that Pakistan wants to raise the relationship status to a strategic level with its time-tested friend adding that fast paced method for addressing issues of bilateral concern put in place in shape of Joint Committee Mechanism. The Minister suggested that this would ensure growth of Sino-Pak cooperation in field of Defence Production. The Secretary Defence Production, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Tanvir Tahir emphasized the need of streamlining matters of defence cooperation during the meeting with delegation. He highlighted a need of system to forecast potential problems to be put in place to ensure swift collaboration. The Vice Administrator SASTIND ensured that future talks and collaborations under Minister\'s patronage would surely flourish. According to official press release, the delegation also met senior officers at General Headquarters, Joint Services Headquarters, Air Headquarters and Naval Headquarters
