The volume of trade exchange between Qatar and the United States was estimated at USD 14.5 billion in 2012, Qatari Ministry of Economy and Trade stated on Thursday. In a press statement, the ministry indicated that the 2012 trade volume figure was revealed during the meeting that was held between Qatari Minister of Economy and Trade Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani and a trade delegation from the U.S. Congress and the Arab American Chamber of Commerce at his office today. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to promote bilateral relations and trade and investment opportunities between the US and Qatar, noted the statement. The US delegation, headed by Congressman Danny Davis, included a number of executives, directors, and representatives of industry sectors in the areas of equipment, infrastructure, technology, health care, health, education, and renewable energy, the ministry pointed out.
