Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade ,Hayati Yazici, and his accompanying delegation arrived Sunday in Sana’a on an official visit to Yemen lasting several days. During the visit, the Turkish Minister will hold talks with officials at the Ministries of Finance and Industry and Trade and the Customs Authority. In a statement to Saba, Yazici confirmed that the visit aims to consolidate the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries so as to push forward the development process in Yemen and Turkey. He noted that the visit will focus on the cooperation in the customs field as well as the meeting with the Yemeni businessmen and investors to strengthen and develop the horizons of cooperation. For their part, Minister of Finance Sakher al-Wajeeh and Chairman of the Customs Authority Mohamed Zamam, who received the Turkish minister, pointed that during the visit a cooperation agreement will be signed between the Yemeni and Turkish customs. They confirmed that the meetings will address the challenges facing the two countries and impede economic relations between them and discuss the best ways to facilitate bilateral trade between the two countries that has grown largely during the past two years, in addition to facilitating customs procedures to increase the pace of trade exchange.
