Ghada Abdelrazek

A popular Egyptian actress has been sent to prison for posting an indecent video on her social media account.
Ghada Abdelrazek was sentenced on Sunday to an unspecified jail term after being accused by lawyer Samir Sabry of committing an act of “disgrace” without considering prevailing norms, Sayidaty reported.
The sentence was issued by the Al-Maadi Criminal Court in Egypt after Sabry filed charges against the actress who he alleged communicated with fans and responded to their questions in a video, appearing intoxicated in a “skimpy nightgown.”
Abdelrazek apologized for the vulgar video days after posting it, blaming her health condition for it.
The 52-year-old actress said in court that her state was caused by a tranquilizer with which she was being treated.
Abdelrazek had trended for hours on Twitter and Google earlier this year when the live video from her Instagram account was published.
The video showed her lying on a bed while talking to her followers. While the video was deleted from her account, parts of the video and screenshots were widely spread online.
The actress had initially said the video was “fabricated” and that she planned to file a police report.
Abdelrazek is known for movies such as “An El Ashq Wel Hawa” (2006) and “Ma’a Sabq Alesrar (2012).
