
6th meeting of UAE Banks Federation's Advisory Council
The 6th meeting of UAE Banks Federation's Advisory Council, under the chair of Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair has reviewed Federation's key milestones for the year and discussed its outlook for the industry's developments and goals in the coming year
.
Mr. Al Ghurair in his remarks said: "Our discussions centred on our on-going work to implement the smart government initiative, the industry's Emiratization goals and objectives, and management and future development of the Federation's recently launched Code of Conduct. Members also highlighted the Federation's significant achievements this year and reiterated the importance of continued cooperation with the Central Bank in promoting a better banking environment that benefits both customers and banks." The UAE Banks Federation recently hosted The Middle East Banking Forum at which senior bankers and economists from the region as well as a roster of high-level regional and international speakers discussed significant banking and economic issues. The Advisory Council noted the positive outcomes of the event and proposed ways of expanding its reach and scope in the coming year.
Chairman of UAE Banks Federation added: "This has been a very fruitful and active year for the UAE Banks Federation and its members, and we are committed to keep up the momentum of achievement in the coming year. We plan to launch several key initiatives to sustain a collaborative and transparent environment where both banks and customers are mindful of their rights and responsibilities, ultimately enhancing a healthy and prosperous economy."
