President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission Hu Jintao on Friday extended congratulations to the People's Liberation Army(PLA) Academy of Military Medical Sciences (AMMS) on its 60th anniversary. "All the scientists, officers and soldiers have been working hard and steadfast and made remarkable contributions to military medical sciences and public health in the past 60 years," Hu said in a written statement to the academy. "I hope you will bear in mind your mission, break new ground and make new contributions," Hu said. Vice President Xi Jinping also congratulated on the anniversary celebrated in Beijing. The highest research institution in military medical sciences and center for diseases prevention and control of the PLA, the AMMS, has trained more than 4,400 high-end medical professionals for the country and the army.
