Diabetes Nepal to organize int'l conference on Dec. 9

The Diabetes Nepal is to organize an International Annual Professional Conference on Diabetes from December 9, 2011. According to a press statement issued by the Diabetes Nepal, diabetes specialists from the country and abroad will impart training to the participants of the event. Similarly, Nepal is observing this year's World Diabetes Day by organizing several public awareness programs Monday. The theme of the day for this year is "Act on Diabetes Now". November 14 is observed as the World Diabetes Day every year. Though the exact number of diabetes patients in Nepal has not been confirmed yet, at least 450,000 people are suffering from diabetes in the country. This number is likely to reach 1.3 million by 2030, experts warned.
