With the nip in the air almost felt, that pink winter has almost set. This chilly climate is loved by all but, it is not just about warm clothes, fireside reading, snuggling close to the pillows wrapped from head to toe with a comfy quilt. It is also the time to battle the cold winds that hampers your body and hair. Winter is a period when all in the family are susceptible to ill health. We navigate our way to be healthy throughout the season and enjoy the season which is like breath of fresh air! A good diet is an essential part of family health-care and winter time is no different. Eating sensibly ensures that you maintain a strong immune system and build up a strong resistance against viruses and infection and why just that, it also ensures better skin and hair! Ideally winter is the season where except junk food nothing should be avoided! This is because our body needs to burn more fats during this season to cope up the low atmospheric temperature. So, one must indulge in lots of vegetables and fruits. Amlas should be consumed in any form like raw, pickles, juice, Chavanprash (it is the best ayurvedic tonic for winters) or murrabba as it comprises high content of Vitamin C which helps one develop a strong immunity against cough and cold and is good for healthy hair. Apart from these, one must not reduce the water intake as it helps in retaining the moisture of the body and skin.
