Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafiq Abdel-Salam confirmed that the Islamic-lead Al-Nahda cabinet reshuffle could be cancelled. In an interview with Arabstoday he said that “there’s a widespread inclination inside the cabinet to cancel the planned cabinet major reshuffle. For now we might limit it to filling the void that followed the resignation of Minister of Administrative Reform Mohammed Abu on 30th June, and Finance Minister Hussein Al-Dimasi on 27th July." This hot topic has been controversial in Tunisia since the last conference of the Al-Nahda party in July, which dealt with a possible reshuffle of the ministries that "didn't live up to the expectations of the Tunisian people". It also explored the possibility of broadening the ruling coalition.
