In a meeting with the chief-of-staff of the Libyan air force, Sakr Hamad Jeroshi, in Khartoum on Monday, he said Sudan had "benefitted from the Libyan revolution". He stated: "We take advantage of the success of the Libyan revolution. The achievement of its objectives makes Darfur secure and stable. We had suffered from [ousted leader Muammar] Gaddafi’s regime before, so the victory of the Libyan revolution is a victory for the Sudanese people, free will as well as the Arab and Muslim nations.” The Sudanese minister expressed his happiness that Libyan rebels were in Khartoum, referring to directives issued by president Omar al-Bashir to back the Libyan armed forces and communicate with them in order to support stability in Libya.
