The Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi meets Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen at the presidential palace in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss the Palestinian situation in a first-time visit by President Abu Mazen to Egypt since Morsi was elected as President of the country. The meeting will discuss a range of topics including Palestinian reconciliation and the situation in the Gaza Strip together with bilateral issues between the two countries. Khaled Meshaal, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, also arrived in Cairo on Wednesday morning, from Morocco, on a two-day visit to Egypt. Meshaal is heading a Hamas delegation during the visit, and they will hold talks about the situation in the occupied territories and efforts being made to revive the peace process.
