The Egyptian Interior Minister Ahmed Gamal Al Din, announced that the security services have been able to identify the perpetrators of the Rafah attack on the Egyptian soldiers. Gamal Al Din said in an interview with the Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram: “We know the identity of one of the perpetrators. He is an Egyptian and an inactive member who was unnoticed after the January revolution.” Gamal Al Din added that there are Takfiri groups with different orientations and their existence threaten the region. He emphasised: “We are determined to chase those elements. Moreover, some political forces are mediating to convince them to give up. The problem in Sinai is we are dealing with the unknown.” The Interior Minister affirmed that he is keen to follow up the security performance and the implementation of the orders. He pointed out that the Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, is keen that the citizens are treated respectably in police stations. Qandil often pays sudden visits to police stations as a way to discover the real truth behind bars.
