Tantawi discusses Egypt election preparations

The head of Egypt's ruling junta Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, deputy Sami Anan and a number of military officials met Thursday morning with interim prime minister Kamal al-Ganzouri and four ministers to discuss arrangements related to the upcoming presidential elections. The meeting was attended by the ministers of justice, interior, media, planning and international cooperation, where logistics and security preparations were discussed. The Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) is working with the interior ministry to set a security plan for the election, which is scheduled for May 23 and 24.
