Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant broke Michael Jordan's record for most career points in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday. Bryant, a four-time All-Star MVP, scored 27 points and moved from fourth place to first after the game, leapfrogging Oscar Robertson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the first half before passing Jordan in the third quarter. The record-setting points came on a fastbreak dunk with 4:57 left in the third quarter that gave him 20 points and took him over Jordan's 262 points. Jordan played in 13 All-Star games. Bryant needed 19 points to break Jordan's record and it was Bryant's 14th All-Star appearance, tying him with Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett for the most All-Star selections among active players.
