Alex Tanguay had a goal and three assists Friday and Jarome Iginla scored a goal and added two assists in the Calgary Flames' 5-3 victory over Winnipeg. Miikka Kiprusoff made 42 saves in the win, which pulled Calgary within one point of San Jose in the scramble for the final playoff slot in the Western Conference. The Jets lost their second consecutive game but remained tied with Washington for the last playoff berth in the Eastern Conference. Tobias Enstrom notched a goal and an assist for Winnipeg. Ondrej Pavelec gave up five goals on 27 shots. The Flames jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first period but Winnipeg scored twice in the final 3 minutes to make it 3-2 at the first intermission. The Jets did not score again until Enstrom's slap shot at 13:48 of the third period.
