Max Pacioretty had two goals and an assist Thursday to help lead the Montreal Canadiens past Edmonton 5-3. P.K. Subban contributed two assists and a power-play goal in the first period for the Canadiens, who had lost seven of eight games coming into Thursday's contest. Montreal scored twice on four power plays. Edmonton was 1-for-4. Taylor Hall, Shawn Horcoff and Linus Omark scored for the Oilers, who lost for the fourth time in five starts. Nikolai Khabibulin allowed four goals on 30 shots. Montreal scored three goals in the third period, which began in a 2-2 tie. Tomas Kaberle scored on a rebound at 3:00 of the period to give the Habs the lead for good and Pacioretty scored into the empty net to close out the scoring.
