Simon Mannix was fired as backs coach of Top 14 side Racing-Metro after the Paris-based outfit's 28-9 win over Biarritz on Friday according to a source close to the club. The 40-year-old New Zealander - capped once by the All Blacks - had been at Racing since 2007 in the days when it was still a Second Division club and had only recently extended his contract. The replacement for Mannix, who often stood in for director of rugby Pierre Berbizier at press conferences, will be announced in the next few days.
