Robert Meachem must not have liked the wings. After dining in Buffalo with the Bills and fellow free agent Mario Williams on Tuesday, the former Saints wideout apparently had a major change of heart, deciding to join the Chargers for four years. Landing Meachem should help offset the loss of Vincent Jackson, who left San Diego for the Buccaneers' riches earlier in the evening. Meachem, 6-2 and 210 pounds, should emerge as a bigger threat with the Bolts after generally being no better than a No. 4 option for QB Drew Brees in New Orleans. He's averaged 43 catches and 660 yards over the past three seasons, solid but nothing comparable to Jackson's Pro Bowl output. Meachem, a first-round pick out of Tennessee in 2007, missed his entire rookie year due to injury and played sparingly in 2008 (12 catches). His best season came in 2009 -- the Saints' Super Bowl year -- when he caught 45 balls for 722 yards and nine TDs.
