Foreign investments in Yemen decline

Foreign Investment Projects in Yemen declined to the lowest level in the third quarter of the year 2012 with a venture capital of 871 million Yemeni Riyals compared to 1 billion and 781 million Yemeni Riyals during the third quarter of the year 2011. Statistical bulletin issued by the General Authority for Investment showed that foreign investments in Yemen represent about 1.4% of the total investments registered during the same period. The Yemeni government is seeking through a number of measures to encourage gross investment and increase its contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) as well as to ensure a favorable investment environment that stimulates the private sector to invest.
