"These acts are perpetrated by those trying to promote sectarian tensions and undermine Iraq's stability. I urge all Iraqi political and religious leaders to promote a spirit of reconciliation between their constituencies and communities," she said in a statement. The European Union remains committed to supporting Iraq in its efforts to achieve lasting peace, added Ashton.
