Syrian actor Basel Khayat quits acting until further notice, according to what is reported on his Facebook page.. Khayat thanked his fans and announced quitting acting in Syria until “Syria is back to what it used to be”. “Thanks to all who attacked me, and thanks to director Rasha Sharbatji for trying to help me continue filming. I am now available in an open vacation in Abu Dhabi,” Khayat said. Basel Khayat is one of the actors who signed the “Milk Statement”, issued a few days after the beginning of Syrian uprisings. He also starred in one of Syria’s most famous TV series last year ‘Al-Ghofran’ (Atonement). Moreover, Syrian director Rasha Sharbatji nominated him for the main role in the series ‘Banat al-Eila’ (Girls of the Family), which she is currently shooting.
