Actor Maurice Benard confirmed via Twitter he has renewed his contract and will remain on TV's General Hospital.
"It's great to stay home for a little while longer doing what I love to do thanks for all your support couldn't do it without you," Benard tweeted Friday.
The actor offered no details regarding the terms of his new agreement to stay on the show. Benard has been playing mob boss Sonny Corinthos on the ABC soap opera since 1993.
